Spa experience Victoria Falls Safari Spa

Our experience at Victoria Falls Safari Spa

We spent the afternoon at Victoria Falls Safari Spa and it was one of the highlights of our time in Zimbabwe. We arrived at around 3pm with massage treatments booked in advance. We were greeted warmly with a welcome drink and cold towel and asked to fill in consultation forms. Then we were taken to our joint treatment room–the perfect experience for couples or friends as you can stay together the entire time.

Our massages were incredible. The staff are highly trained and professional, putting us at ease and guiding us through the process. They asked preferences on pressure beforehand and they did a great job of releasing tension and knots in my muscles.

The massage worked wonders at soothing painful muscles which had formed whilst on safari too–the safari vehicles are comfortable but after all day in any seat you’re bound to feel some aches and pains. We were also treated to a foot scrub which was amazing after our feet had been in walking boots for many days whilst on safari excursions.

After the massage we had a shower, enjoying using the luxury products, put on our swimwear and robes and headed outside to the pool-side loungers. The loungers were comfortable and the pool was refreshing on a hot day. The infinity pool was incredible as you could swim to the edge and look for wildlife amongst the trees.

Whilst at the poolside, staff brought over complimentary iced water and kept it topped up throughout our stay. They also served us drinks here; we opted for cocktails and can recommend the mimosa and the aperol spritz. We ordered our food from our loungers and once ready we were called up to the café area and ate on the outdoor decking area, cocooned by trees and listening to bird song.

We both opted for the salmon poke bowl which was beautifully presented and tasted amazing–we weren't expecting such fine dining at the spa. After another round of drinks and some coffee we whiled away our time enjoying the ambience. All in all we spent around 3 hours at the Victoria Falls Safari Spa and would highly recommend it to everyone that visits Zimbabwe or Zambia. It was the perfect complement to a safari holiday.

Where is Victoria Falls Safari Spa located?

The Victoria Falls Safari Spa is nestled in indigenous woodland on the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge estate and has its own small car park. Also located on the estate are the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, Victoria Falls Safari Club, Victoria Falls Safari Suites, Lokuthula Lodges and The Boma—Dinner and Drum.

It’s just three kilometres outside of the Victoria Falls town in Zimbabwe and you can get there easily by taxi.

Is Victoria Falls Safari Spa open to non-residents of the hotel?

Yes! Victoria Falls Safari Spa is open to everyone–residents or non-residents, everyone is welcome. The spa offers a warm welcome to every guest and you are made to feel special and at home straight away with the offer of a cold towel and drink.

We actually visited from where we were staying, just over the border in Livingstone, Zambia, and were made to feel like royalty when we arrived. If you come here for lunch, drinks, or a treatment, you can enjoy the facilities at no extra charge. It's also the perfect place for destination weddings, cocktail parties or informal business meetings.

With full or half day packages it is suitable for groups, solo travellers and couples. The spa also endorses parents with children to visit–they have a ‘bush babies’ treatment list and the spa can arrange child care for just $5USD per hour whilst parents relax.

If you are a guest of any of the properties on the estate, the spa is also a great way to extend your stay–you can check out of your accommodation and bring your luggage to the spa, and then spend the day enjoying the facilities. It’s a great ‘late check-out’ or ‘early check-in’ option.

You can book your visit on their website or on Instagram by direct messaging them.

What treatments are available at Victoria Falls Safari Spa?

The Victoria Falls Safari Spa offers a wide range of treatments to visitors. Choose from manicures, pedicures, massages, facials and more–you won’t be disappointed! The spa uses natural products made in Africa which smell incredible and leave your skin feeling fresh and revitalised.

We both had the ‘Muscle Ease’ back, neck & shoulder massage which was incredible–the firm pressure was much needed after several hours in safari vehicles spotting Africa’s range of wildlife. The products used for this treatment help with aches, pains and muscle fatigue. We were also treated to a pre-massage foot scrub which left our feet soft and supple, the perfect antidote to days in walking boots.
